A HUGE Thank you!

Thank you SO SO SO much to everyone who took a lil bit of their time to say a quick little prayer for me. I am proud to say that I am now a Dance Major here at BYU! Such an awesome accomplishment if I do say so myself. I am so excited!! I felt really good about the way the auditions went and I found out this morning that I made it. Definitely one of the happiest moments of my life. Thank you Thank you Thank you! You're prayers helped. I was nervous but I think it was a good nervous that helped me perform the best that I possibly could. I am so grateful and so blessed! What a lucky girl I am!!
Now a thank you to my mother for the package she sent me :)

NANIZZLE!

I have the best Nana in the whole world. If you have not met her, then you should. She's seriously the greatest! She makes the best cookies and chocolates and fruit leather and applesauce and everything.
My Nana means the world to me. I can't even begin to express how much I love her! One thing that I absolutely love about her is that she would always make it a point to come see me dance. She always helped with my costumes and sewing the ribbons on my ballet shoes. She came to competitions with me and I loved having her there so much! She has been such a huge part of my life and I can't thank her enough for all that she has done for me. I have a lil story that is especially dear to my heart that I'm sure I've already told on the blog before but wanna share it again.

My Nana and Pumps come to the temple on thursdays and when my dad would do champs and my mom would have dance on thursdays, they'd come over after and drive us to our various activities that we had and cook us incredible meals and clean our disastrous house haha They were the bomb diggity fo sho! One thursday my mom and my nana and I were in the kitchen when the phone rang. I was trying on one of my dance costumes for my nana so she could make the adjustments it needed when the phone rang. I answered it and that was the phone call when Miss Jodi told me I got distinction on my ballet exam. We all started crying and it was just a really special moment. I'm so glad that my Nana could be there for it and that she has been so involved in my life, especially in the dance aspect.

Today is her birthday so leave her a lil shout out in my comments to tell her happy birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY NANIZZLE! Thank you for everything you've done for me :)

Happy Canadian Thanksgiving

There are so many thoughts bouncing around in this head of mine.

This week has been a difficult one.

I have been selfish.

I have been feeling sorry for myself.. I'm hormonal and emotional. forgive me for being a girl.

My family is enjoying quarter pieces of pumpkin pie and I'm here. eating sandwiches.

I didn't get to go out to Beazer this year.. my first year not going. tragic really.

I didn't get the two thanksgiving dinners that I usually do.

How selfish can I get? seriously. Here I am complaining about not getting the two huge feasts that I normally get and there are people in this world that have never even had a feast in their lives, not to mention two in one weekend.

Just somethin to think about

The other day in Dr. Gantt's Book of Mormon class he started out the class by saying that he was going to get a little off course and not talk so much about the chapter scheduled for that day.. He began to talk about a conversation he had with his son and eventually we got to discussing the importance of grades and such. He went on to say that he thinks letter grades should not be the main concern of students at BYU. At first I thought, well if you insist :) haha Then he said that rather than focusing on getting good grades and what not, wouldn't it be better if we were to focus on doing all that we can to show our Heavenly Father how grateful we are to be able to be at BYU, or wherever we may be? This really hit me for some reason.. He kept going with this and started talking about how there are people in places such as Guatemala (I may have gotten a little bit excited at the reference to Parker's mission haha) that are living in huts with dirt floor making as little as $80/month and they are faithful members of the church who pay 10% of that $80 to the church each month and that money is used to pay for the buildings that I go to school in and the professors that teach my classes. It really made me think that I need to be a little less lazy and show my Heavenly Father that I really am so grateful to be here. I think that can be applied to wherever we are in our lives. We are so blessed to live where do we do and to have the families that we do and to be able to eat good food everyday and have a nice warm bed to climb into at night. Shouldn't we be doing everything in our power to be the best that we can be? I mean, why not? What have we got to lose? I just found the whole lecture really inspiring. It makes me want to be a better person and to be doing all that I can to reach my full potential...

just a lil somethin somethin to think about yah?

and ps. Hows about that BYU football game last night eh? GOOOOOO COUGARS! Woot Woot!
